It is especially important at this time of year when many parents buy a dragon for their children without forethought. Housing: A dragon is a large creature sometimes with a wingspan of 50 meters and weighing up to 200 tons, and they are not really house pets. A nice cave in the back garden with spacious underground caverns is ideal. (Dragons have their own internal heat so no external heating source is required; a night light in the deeper caverns is a nice touch). Feeding: Please do NOT feed Armoured Knights WITH their armour on. This can lead to tooth damage after 3 to 4 hundred years. Exercise: Dragons need daily flights of 150 miles (200 km), preferably over lofty peaks although a happy dragon will often spend an afternoon or a year in a swamp. Snacking: the Yorkshire terrier is the snack of choice here. The rumour that “yorkies” are an endangered species because of over consumption by dragons and onlydragons is entirely without substance. NB: Yorkshire Terriers MUST be served live; a dragon will ignore food if it doesn’t move. Grooming: generally your Dragon will groom him (her) self but they do like your attention. If you cannot lay your hands on a flamethrower then a blowtorch applied behind the ears can remove unwanted scales. A standard industrial jackhammer can remove calluses.
